My Journey to Full Time Photography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I first started out (almost 10 years ago) I had no idea where to begin. I didn\u2019t have a mentor to look up to. I just knew that I was always that friend with a camera in my hand and capturing all of our memories growing up as a kid. Looking back, I am SO glad I did! All of those moments would be lost in time. When something comes so natural and is something you can\u2019t stop thinking about, it’s an idea worth exploring! Look where I am at now and where you can be too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Camera Gear I Got Started With<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My very first camera was a Canon point and shoot (and some disposables \ud83d\ude05). You know, the small silver camera that had a wrist strap and could fit in your back pocket? So naturally when it came to buying some big girl camera gear just knew it would be Canon. Stick with what you know, amiright?! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canon is not the end all be all in camera gear. Well, in my opinion it is, but for educational purposes I will share the two other very popular brands: Nikon + Sony. It really is all about preference. Remember, it’s not the gear that makes the photo\u2026 it’s the person taking it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what does one do when they want to purchase something? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They take to the internet and find an affordable option with decent reviews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is how I found my very first camera: the Canon 50D (bonus: it came with a 50mm lens too). At the time, I had no idea about full frame cameras\u2026 what that meant and why I needed them. I started out shooting in the aperture setting \ud83e\udd26\ud83c\udffc\u200d\u2640\ufe0f – you know\u2026 where it automatically sets your aperture based on lighting? Figuring out manual settings was a learning curve! I can cover that in another blog another time <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My 50D had a crop sensor, so when I thought I had the perfect composition, I would find out in post that it would cut off their head slightly or cut off a limb. We just can’t have that! <\/span>I’ve come a long way since that first Canon 50D, and I’m here to share the camera gear I’d recommend YOU start out with!<\/p> <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
